Who do you use for shipping carriers?

Since we only ship in the U.S., we currently use the U.S. Postal Service for all of our shipping.

Will I receive a shipping notification and tracking information after I place my order?

Yes. When your order ships, you will receive an email informing you of the shipment and its tracking information.

What is your return policy?

If you have an item to return, please follow the instructions on on our returns form. 

Are your products available in countries other than the U.S.?

Our online products are currently only available to U.S. customers.

I have heard that Rhamnolipid biosurfactant is produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which is classified as an opportunistic bacterial pathogen. If so, how can you guarantee that Rhamnolipid biosurfactant is safe for use in soap and cosmetic products?

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is by far the best and most cost-effective Rhamnolipid producer in nature, making it an inevitable strain for commercial production of Rhamnolipid biosurfactant. Our commercial-grade Rhamnolipid biosurfactant undergoes multiple purification stages after fermentation to make it completely safe and usable in consumer products. During our proprietary processing, which is under strict quality control, all viable Rhamnolipid-producing strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa are completely eliminated from Rhamnolipid                    preparations.

Rhamnolipid is the best known and most studied biosurfactant. Can MayLū products be used in homes with septic systems?

Absolutely. MayLū products are all bio-based natural products.

How long does it take for your chemical ingredients to biodegrade in water and/or soil? 

MayLū product ingredients are readily biodegradable.

Are your listed ingredients derived from bio-based, sustainable and renewable sources, or are they from non-renewable petroleum-derived chemicals?

MayLū product ingredients are sustainably produced from natural, renewable and/or bio-based sources.

Do your ingredients contain harsh, corrosive, or harmful chemical substances?

MayLū products contain green and non-toxic ingredients.  We do not use harsh or harmful chemical substances.

Do your ingredients contain dyes or colorants?

The color of each MayLū product is natural and characteristic of the ingredients in that product.  No added colors or dyes are used.

Do the ingredients contain synthetic fragrances?

No. MayLū products use essential oils for scents.  We use no synthetic fragrances.

Are more suds/foam necessary in cleaning products for better cleaning efficiency?

More suds or foam does not necessarily guarantee better cleaning efficiency.  Traditionally, the common mental connection between suds or foam and cleaning efficiency is triggered by a consumer’s psychological response or feeling.  In fact, you may observe that the best cleaning efficiency can come from products that do not produce much suds or foam.  In other words, some high-foam cleaning products may yield low cleaning efficiency.

How do suds affect product greenness?

It is important to note that many suds or foaming agents are derived from petroleum-based chemical ingredients or high-cost bio-based ingredients. MayLū products do not use any suds-enhancing agents.  The foam seen in MayLū products comes from the ingredients themselves.
